I started by sketching rough drafts of the storyline, developing ideas graphically, and then experimented with different compositions and expressions until I find the one that best captures my vision.
Once I had chosen a sketch that resonates, I refined it further by adding more details and cleaning up any rough lines and shapes. In this studio, we were asked to write down keywords related to the topic of my thesis and then create them together. These helped me clarify my story ideas and help me think about the entire script. I also appreciated many different printing techniques, which made the originally perfect works more attractive. I believe that as long as you try different printing methods, you will have different and unexpected effects.I drew with reference to other people’s understanding of animals. In this artist’s sketch, I understood that the design does not necessarily have to follow the original shape of the animal. Texture can also be an expression of character quality. You should pay more attention to the movement patterns of animals, such as the majestic appearance of lions. So when I was designing, considering that my audience was children, I first drew in a more concrete form and then gradually reduced it.I designed the characters by thinking about their personality traits, physical appearance, clothing style, and unique features. Then, I decided to use a restrained color palette but with some bright and vibrant colors, which could appeal to children while also emphasize the sense of hope and love.Paul, a happy red fox, loses his family and seeks help from a detective agency with the aid of Bob the cat and Buck the dog. They uncover clues left by humans, locate their loved ones in a hidden circus, rescue them along with other trapped animals, and successfully escape tog.etherI like the texture of riso very much, it just reflects the comic feel of my work. I think I made the right decision using Riso. I feel a sense of accomplishment when I see my work being successfully printed. And after going through a printing process, I became more confident in the creative process. In this attempt, I completely mastered the export method of the file format, and I was able to skillfully use Riso’s machine, which is of great significance to me. Riso is more convenient and time-saving than screenprint. I hope to have the opportunity to use it again in the future. After telling everyone my story, I got a lot of helpful advice. For example, adding more animal information allows children to communicate better. Choose colors that are more gentle to express children’s preferences. These are the key things that need to be modified for me.
